Who wrote it
I am Greg Brzezinka. I give talks and run workshops on AI in business. Recently I spoke at AI Miners in Katowice, and spent three days teaching a team of PKO Bank Polski developers to work with AI assistants.
I test fast decision models on Polish data and publish the results. My day job is CTO at Prosit, a Polish-Norwegian technology company.
The basal-2 model was built by Remigiusz Kinas on top of the Polish Bielik model. I am not affiliated with its authors.
Questions
Do I need to know how to code?
No. You copy ready-made commands from the guide and paste them into a Terminal window. I show you how to open it and what you should see after each step.
Does it work on Windows?
The guide is written for a Mac with Apple silicon (M1 or newer), and I tested every step on a Mac. The model also runs on Linux, but without an NVIDIA card it is slower. On Windows you can run it through WSL, a route I have not tested yet. You need about 4 GB of free disk space.
Is it free?
Yes. The guide is free, and you can download the basal-2 model from Hugging Face at no cost. After you sign up, I will send you a short email about AI in business now and then. You can unsubscribe with one click.
Does my data go to the cloud?
The model runs on your computer, so the emails and complaints you show it never leave it. You only need the internet to download the model.
